Step 1: Stop Planning

Listen, it’s the holidays, and you’re either going crazy trying to plan 1,530,382 things, or you’ve completely given up. Either way, you’re being hard on yourself.

You either know that you’re not going to achieve the 1,530,382 things, so you’re already feeling guilty for falling short. But you’re still running around like a chicken with its head cut off doing the best you can.

Or you have already given up, fallen short, and stopped all the planning, resigning yourself to the chaos. And that makes you feel overwhelmed and guilty too.

Here’s the question:

You’re not achieving what you want to achieve with all this planning anyway. So why are you still wasting time doing it?

Even if you’re that person who truly, honestly believes she will spontaneously combust if she doesn’t plan out the rest of 2016 (or the entirety of 2017), STOP ALREADY.

If you’re serious about getting your shit together, stop the insanity.

You’re not doing it right.

We’re going to work through a way to reframe the definition of planning. We’re going to help you do it more efficiently.

But that means letting go of everything you thought about planning up in till now.

Are you with me?

Listen, let it go. there are only 9 more days left this year.

Will your life really change if you push harder? Are you really going to get it all done? Probably not.

So instead of giving up, make a conscious effort to just stop. What if you ended the year by breathing in balance and peace instead of trying to do more?

If you’re a planner: The thought of this probably drives you crazy. Who is this woman, you ask, who obviously doesn’t understand your NEED to plan. Trust me. I’ll walk you through the rest of the year.
If you’re wishy-washy: You may feel relief in the fact that I’m offering this to you, because you may already have given up. And you’re feeling a little guilty, but you decided to enjoy the holidays anyway. Still, you know you’re not going to start the new year feeling any more clarity.
If you’re total chaos: You might be thinking, I wasn’t planning on planning anything anyway. Right. That’s not your thing. Well, guess what? I’m turning the whole idea of planning on its head anyway. Follow along with this challenge, and you’ll glide into the new year feeling more peaceful and less overwhelmed. Even though you didn’t plan a thing.
